Home Remedies to Fight Acne

None of us wants to face stepping out of our house when all you can focus on is your acne. There are steps one can and should take in order to help this common problem. First off you need to realize that letting acne become a worry will not help the situation. At least 96% of teens face acne at one point or another. Stressing can only cause it to linger or increase the outbreaks. Acne remedies, like all medications, can be costly but let's explore some simple home remedies that are cost effective.
These effective quick home made remedies from natural products can be less harsh to your skin and typically made from items you already have in your kitchen. A tip when washing your face is to use lukewarm water and gently rub using your fingertips. Pat dry and give your face a couple of minutes to air dry and breath.
Mix a tiny bit of water with lemon juice and apply often to effected areas frequently.Ground up cucumber into a pulp and apply for 15 to 20 minutes each day followed by rinsing.Make a paste from fresh fenugreek leaves, apply at bedtime leaving overnight and wash off thoroughly in the morning.Use 1 egg yolk and apply as a facial mask using a cotton ball. Leave on 15 to 20 minutes then rinse off with cold water.Combine ground nutmeg with milk to make a paste and leave on for 1 to 2 hours.Make a paste from salt and vinegar. Rub on affected area for 20 to 30 minutes then rinse off.
These simple ideas are worth trying before spending more money on more expensive ointments or doctor visits. Anyone can try these home remedies which typically get results within two weeks but if you have a complicated or severe case you may wish to seek the assistance of a medical professional. Be sure you are mindful to changes on your skin and any signs that the situation is getting worse you should stop.
If none of these sound appealing and you prefer to combat the acne with over the counter products, then it's recommended to use some type of topical treatment to help control the acne. Over the counter products with keratolytes which include salicyclic acid help break down plugged up oil. This can be found in products such as Clearasil medicated wipes or acne treatment cream, or Derma Veen Acne Cleansing Bar. The use of benzoyl peroxide products such as Oxy, PanOxyl, Clearasil Ultra and Benzac AC Gel and Wash help to remove skin cells and suppress bacteria. Remember to follow directions and in limited use so that your skin does not redden or become dry.
Above all else remember that trapped dead cells and oil in the pores is what leads to blemishes and acne. Be sure you are eating a healthy diet that include foods rich in beta-carotene and Vitamin C such as dark green vegetables, bright colored fruits, berries, citrus, potatoes, broccoli to name a few. Foods that have Vitamin B6 and Zinc such as seafood, meat, poultry, beans, yogurt and whole grains. Be sure to get proper sleep and exercise.
